Rift is known for building strong community ties within guilds, within groups and individuals. It is no surprise that many of us have met our best friends, and even romantic partners, in game – MMOGs are a realm where we learn about people based on their personality, rather than their appearance, wealth, education or even culture.
Telara is also a world where existing friendships deepen and where family bonds are strengthened. Some of my fondest memories online come from the days my son and I played together, and my very best gaming moments are those I have shared with my husband.
It is no surprise, then that weddings are a very real part of virtual life in RIFT. We all love a good wedding, and the Dev team is very happy to have been a part of so many over the past 5 years.
Let’s shake things up a bit this year with our new costume offering:
Flipped Wedding gear!
Now your Bahmi gent can sport a lovely gown and your Kelari lass can look spiffing in a tux.
Mix and match with the regular style depending based on YOUR preference!
Never you mind what the in-laws say, they’re probably outlaws anyway.
These elegant celebratory outfits are available on the RIFT store now!
Now, time for a trip down memory lane…
Four years ago, RIFT set the world record for the most people married in an online game with 21, 879 in-game marriages officiated on Valentine’s Day, 2012. That record still stands!

Were you there? Did you tie the knot?
We’d love to hear from you – are you still married in game? Do you have images to share?
We have SO many questions! Drop us a line (and pics if ya got ’em) on the forum thread here.
