Closed Beta is live! It’s time to adventure, explore, and create your way through a new universe of voxel worlds – or team up to build your own with no future wipes!
We’re kicking things off with a Producer’s letter from Avarem looking at where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how to join today (spoiler: you get an instant invite with any Trove purchase, even a $5 Credit Pack!).
Hello Trovians, and welcome to Closed Beta!
The road to Closed Beta has been an incredible ride. Those of you who have been with us since the beginning know the first version of Trove is barely recognizable in the game we’re all playing today. Sure, there are a few similarities – you still build stuff and you still hit ladybugs with a sword – but when it comes down to the sheer amount of stuff you can do, the people you’ve met, and the creations you’ve made … well, it’s hard to imagine it’s only been a year.
Alpha was about building the core of the game, and Beta is about refining it. We’re going to take everything we’ve already done and do more of it while making the rest better – and all before we throw open the floodgates to countless players by going fully free to play.
As with any time we chat, it’s impossible to include everything we’re planning or working on, but well, here’s a brief look at the future of Trove!
More of the good stuff: More classes (Candy Barbarian is up next!), more monsters, more quests, more biomes, and more stuff to do, collect, earn, and trade. If it’s something that you’re having fun with, we’re going to expand on it.
More variety: Combat is fun, building is fun, crafting is fun – but these are just the beginning. What about planting something? Collecting pets? Fishing? Sounds good to us.
Progression connection: Leveling up a class is great, exploring is great, building and collecting recipes, mounts, and pets … great. But what ties it all together? We’ll be talking more about that soon!
Closed Beta/Open Beta: More people means more fun! You can join Closed Beta with any Trove purchase – even a $5 credit pack – to get a jump on building and help shape our feature set for the launch of Open Beta, when everyone can play for free!
I can say without a doubt this has been the best, most friendly, and most creative community I’ve been a part of in my lifetime of online communities. Thanks for being a part of Trove, and I look forward to celebrating our next milestone with all of you!
