The snail rush is over but the winners are ready to be announced!

#ShowUsYourSnail Challenge

Last week we announced the #ShowUsYourSnail challenge in honor of our new spiky friend, the Burning Apocalyptic Snail. We asked you to take a photo of the snail and superimpose it into a real-life photo or in-game screenshot of the snail for a chance to win the new mount for your very own! If you need a refresher, here were the official rules.

Apocalyptic Snail Rush

The Plane of Earth contains vast desert wastes left behind by species such as the Architects. Existence can be difficult there, even for hardy species such as ogres. Some turn to an ascetic life contemplating the path of the Cosmic Rhinoceros, while others who have not given up their desire for acquiring plunder become brutal raiders. These ogre raiders travel the wastes on their fearsome Apocalypse Snails, one of the few other creatures that can both survive in the wastes, and carry the tremendous bulk of the ogre raiders, and their prodigious plunder. A number of these mounts have traveled through the rifts and have become prized by collectors who admire the wasteland chic desire, and how the snails will eat anything, often to the detriment of their keepers.

This all-new, totally badass Burning Apocalypse Snail mount is on the Live store now for 3,000 credits. It boasts a 160% speed but will match the fastest mount in your stable. Once purchased, it will be available on all characters across your account (Live only). Ride to glory, Ascended!

Introducing our new Supply Crate, featuring a chance at the rare Blazin’ Snail!

Where have these fiery, pre-cooked escargot been hiding? In the lava of Ashenfell, of course. We’ve all missed them in the past because any time we fall into lava, we don’t stop to look around – it’s a super fast jumping, flailing rush to get out before we get crispy!

Given the area they are found in, we surmised that these unusual gastropods feed on the ashen remains of failed critters and adventurers. Could this be the key to taming it? We wanted to put our theory to the test. RoughRaptors refused to be roasted and hung from a stick, claiming that it does not fall under “other duties as assigned. Therefore, we took a slightly burnt lobster to use as lead bait… and the Blazin’ Snail ravenously followed it. Huzzah!

If you’re lucky enough to gain one from the new Supply Crate, blaze a new trail at 160% of normal speed! If not, you’ll still gain valuable components as well as prize tickets that you can save toward your choice of awesome items!
