Trion’s First Independent Board Members to Bolster Corporate Governance,
Help Drive Growth Strategy

2012 – Leading premium online games company Trion Worlds today announced that Peter Gotcher, Chairman of Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB) and a leading independent venture investor, and Dominique Trempont, seasoned CEO and current board member of Real Networks (NASDAQ: RNWK) and Energy Recovery Inc. (NASDAQ: ERII), have joined the Company’s board of directors. Gotcher and Trempont, Trion’s first independent board appointments, will help anchor strong governance as the company continues to grow.

Peter Gotcher is an independent venture investor focusing on investments in digital media companies.
He is Chairman of Dolby Laboratories and Chairman of Topspin Media, Inc., which he co-founded in 2007. He also serves on the boards of Pandora (NYSE:P) and Line6. Gotcher was a technology pioneer, founding Digidesign Inc.
in 1984, serving as its President, CEO and Chairman, and guiding the company to become the world’s leading manufacturer of Digital Audio Workstations. At the 2000 Grammy Awards, he accepted the Technical Achievement Grammy in honor of Digidesign’s contributions to the recording industry. Digidesign also received an Oscar from the Motion Picture Academy in 2004 and in 2010, Peter was awarded the Philo Farnsworth Lifetime Achievement Emmy award.
Dominique Trempont is an experienced technology leader and continues to serve on the Board of two globally renowned companies, Energy Recovery Inc. and Real Networks as well as on24, a private SaaS company, providing virtual shows and webcasts on the Internet. Previously, Trempont served on the board of directors of
3Com (NASDAQ: COMS) and Verity (NASDAQ: VRTY), Trempont’s early career was influenced by Apple founder Steve Jobs who personally recruited Dominique to turn around NeXT, first as CFO then to lead operations. Trempont led NeXT’s shift from hardware to Internet focused software, successfully restructuring the company financially, organizationally and strategically, and sold NeXT to Apple in 1997.
Today’s Board additions mark the latest development in Trion’s continuing momentum. Storm Legion™, the first expansion for Trion’s award-winning MMORPG Rift®, is scheduled to launch in November, followed by genre-bending MMORTS End of Nations™ and massive transmedia event Defiance™ a co-developed project with Syfy. Recently, the company also announced its relationship with leading European games company Crytek to co-publishing and co-operating the award-winning online first-person shooter (FPS) game Warface® in the west through GFACE® powered by the Trion platform (code-named Red Door).
