PC Open Beta Test runs from June 22 through 25.
Redwood City, CA – June 12, 2018 – Trion Worlds is excited to announce the release date for the reimagining of Defiance, its free-to-play sci-fi MMO shooter! Defiance 2050 will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on July 10, 2018.
The original Defiance revolutionized the sci-fi open-world shooter, seamlessly blending third-person gunplay, fast-paced action, dynamic world events, and cooperative gameplay. In the Defiance universe players take on the role of Ark Hunters, mercenaries battling their way across the post-apocalyptic landscapes of a ruined earth, using alien tech and advanced weaponry to carve out their fortune.
Defiance 2050 is the definitive Defiance experience, focused on bringing the game into the next generation. In addition to taking advantage of modern hardware to improve the original game’s visuals, Defiance 2050 also makes major updates to Defiance’s systems, streamlining and modernizing them for today’s shooter audience.
Prior to launch, Trion Worlds will be hosting a open beta test on PC from June 22 through 25. Players will be able to access most of the classes available at launch, including the Assassin, Guardian, Combat Medic, and Assault classes, as well as the full suite of missions that will be available at launch.
Starting on June 19, Xbox One and PC players will be able to pre-order one of three Defiance 2050 Founder’s Packs, that will unlock classes and upgrades, provide additional currency, and grant them access to the Head Start period, which begins on July 6th. Also starting on July 6th, PlayStation 4 players will be able to purchase the Defiance 2050 Founder’s Packs, granting them immediate access!
